Artist Statement
I paint to say “I was here.”
That is, I paint to simply mark my presence across a surface. To leave my mark. Mostly, the marks I choose come in the form of whatever brings me joy. Those joys tend to come from the natural world and from my children.
Through painting the birds I see, the flowers I grow, or by making an abstract mess of the colors I love, I capture parts of myself and my joys amidst the chaos of the ever-changing seasons of motherhood.
